Hawks Drop CCS Opener At Asbury

WILMORE, Ky.- Making the trip to Wilmore for their conference opener, Huntingdon Women's Soccer faced off with the Eagles of Asbury University, and ultimately was defeated 2-0. 

How it happened

Through the opening stages of this afternoon's contest, neither offense could generate any momentum. Asbury finally broke the ice at the 30 minute mark to establish a 1-0 lead heading into the halftime break. 

The second half saw more of the same, as the Hawks struggled to get any solid shots off while the Eagles dictated the pace of the game. Inside the final three minutes of the match, Asbury tapped one past Madelon Machen, icing away their 2-0 victory over Huntingdon in the CCS opener.

• Allowing just two goals, Hawks goalkeeper recorded 12 saves on the day

The Hawks look to bounce back tomorrow, September 21st, as they face Berea on the road. Gametime is set for 12:00 PM CT.
