MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Taking to the pitch at the Samford Soccer Complex for their second consecutive match, Huntingdon Men's Soccer played host to the current CCS front-runners, the Covenant Scots, falling 4-1 in the conference matchup.
How it happened
After trading missed shots in the earliest moments of the game, the Hawks drew blood first, as Josh Diaz found the back of the net on a corner kick at the 10:52 mark to put Huntingdon in front. Covenant responded quickly however, making the most of the Hawks red card at the at the 15:39 mark by scoring on the penalty kick, tying things up at 1 heading into the halftime break.
Coming out of halftime, the Scots caught fire offensively, cashing in on three shots to grab a 4-1 lead coming down the stretch. The Hawks, firing off just 1 shot in the half, could not match, dropping the conference match at home.
In the goal
#0 Tyler Taylor drew his first collegiate start in the goal for the Hawks, picking up one save on as many shots before picking up a red card. #0 Cody Hall subbed in and played the remainder of this afternoon's match, surrendering four goals while securing 7 saves.
