Women's Wrestling Finishes Runner-Up At SLIAC Conference Championships

EUREKA, Ind.- Following a two-week hiatus, Huntingdon Women's Wrestling returned to the mats today, this time competing in the program's inaugural St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletics Conference Championships.

Finishing the day with 3 individual conference champions(Arie Bacon, Aniyah Griffin, and Brooke Madden) and 108.5 total points, the Hawks finished as the tournament runner-ups with Schreiner University claiming the title at 128.5 points. As a result of her conference championship in her freshman season, Brooke Madden was recognized as the conference's Freshman of the Year; while senior Emma Stephenson was named to the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team. Asides from the team's three conference champions, Huntingdon saw 7 Hawks finish 2nd within their weight class and all competitors place within the top 5, lending itself to an excellent start to post season wrestling.
