  • Huntingdon joins USA South Athletic Conference

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced today that Huntingdon will join the NCAA-Division III USA South Athletic Conference beginning in the fall of 2013. Huntingdon and Covenant College (Ga.) were approved as members at a meeting of the USA South presidents yesterday. Current USA South members are Averett University (Va.), Ferrum College (Va.), Greensboro College (N.C.), Mary Baldwin College (Va.), Meredith College (N.C.), Methodist University (N.C.), N.C. Wesleyan College (N.C.), William Peace University (N.C.), and the conference's newest members, LaGrange College (Ga.), Piedmont College (Ga.), and Maryville College (Tenn.).

  • Huntingdon hires St. James coach Amy Patterson to lead volleyball program

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College volleyball program has a new coach. But she is no stranger to the Huntingdon program. Former Huntingdon volleyball player and longtime St. James School coach Amy Patterson has been hired to lead the Hawks. Huntingdon College athletic director Buzz Phillips officially announced the hiring on Wednesday.
  • Twenty Hawks earn Academic All-Conference honors

    DECATUR, Ga. – The Great South Athletic Conference recently recognized 20 Huntingdon student-athletes in four sports with the release of the GSAC All-Academic teams. The student-athletes from volleyball, men's and women's soccer and women's cross country excelled in the classroom while representing the Hawks in competition this fall.
  • Huntingdon’s season ends in semifinals of GSAC volleyball tournament

    DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up a win in its first match on Friday, but top-seeded Maryville was too much to overcome in the Great South Athletic Conference semifinals. Maryville ended Huntingdon’s season 25-12, 25-15, 25-12. The Hawks end the season at 11-25. Maryville (25-7) advances to the GSAC championship on Saturday at noon.
  • Huntingdon’s Eason and Carter earn All-Conference volleyball recognition

    DECATUR, Ga. – Huntingdon seniors Alyssa Eason and Abby Carter were among those honored with the announcement of the Great South Athletic Conference's volleyball awards on Thursday. The two volleyball players were each named All-Conference and will receive their awards this weekend at the GSAC tournament at Piedmont College. This is the second straight year Eason and Carter have been named All-Conference.

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Huntingdon volleyball team ended the regular season with two losses on Sunday in the Rhodes Halloween tournament. The Hawks lost to Hardin Simmons 25-11, 25-11, 25-12 and fell to Rhodes 25-14, 25-21, 25-20.

    ATLANTA – The Huntingdon volleyball team fell to Oglethorpe in three games on Tuesday. Abby Carter had five kills and Alyssa Eason had 14 assists but the Hawks lost 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

    WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Huntingdon volleyball team picked up two Great South Athletic Conference victories on Saturday. Behind Abby Carter's 17 kills and Alyssa Eason's 43 assists, the Hawks knocked off Wesleyan 25-8, 25-5, 25-10 and Salem 17-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-23.
  • Huntingdon volleyball falls to LaGrange and Covenant on Senior Day

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Saturday marked the final home matches for three Huntingdon seniors. Abby Carter, Alyssa Eason and Ashlee Walters were recognized on Senior Day before the Hawks took on LaGrange and Covenant in a Great South Athletic Conference tri-match. LaGrange downed Huntingdon 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 25-21 and Covenant beat the Hawks 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.
  • Huntingdon volleyball falls to Stillman in five games

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team battled Stillman for five games but came up a little short Thursday night at Roland Arena. In the third meeting between the two teams this season, Stillman won 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 15-25, 15-12. Huntingdon won the first two meetings this season in three games and four games.

  • Unbeaten Spring Hill knocks off Huntingdon volleyball team

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team couldn’t find an answer for unbeaten and 21st-ranked Spring Hill College on Thursday night at Roland Arena. The Badgers downed the Hawks 25-14, 25-11, 25-3. The NAIA team improved to 23-0 with the victory.

  • Huntingdon volleyball knocks off Judson for fourth win in five matches

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Lauren Rozof and Abby Brown combined for 22 kills and Alyssa Eason had 40 assists to lead the Huntingdon volleyball team past Judson College on Tuesday night at Roland Arena. The 23-25, 25-20, 25-9, 25-18 win was the first home win of the season for the Hawks and the fourth win in the last five matches. This was just the fourth time Huntingdon (7-15) has played at home this season.

    DEMOREST, Ga. – Abby Carter totaled 22 kills and Alyssa Eason recorded 58 assists as the Huntingdon volleyball team knocked off Spelman in three games and lost to Piedmont in three games. Huntingdon beat Spelman 25-22, 25-23, 25-17. Piedmont beat the Hawks 25-11, 25-17, 25-14.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College volleyball team had two rough matches on Saturday at Roland Arena. The Hawks hosted Great South Athletic Conference rivals Maryville College and Agnes Scott in a tri-match. Maryville defeated the Hawks in three games, 25-17, 25-19, 25-12. Agnes Scott rallied from a two-game deficit to beat the Hawks in five games, 23-25, 23-25, 29-27, 26-24, 15-13.

    JACKSON, Miss. – Alyssa Eason had 11 assists and six digs and Diane Humphreys had four kills and three aces, but the Huntingdon volleyball team fell to Millsaps College 25-13, 25-11, 25-13. Abby Brown added four kills for the Hawks (3-11) and Ashlee Walters recorded seven digs.

    CONWAY, Ark. – The Huntingdon volleyball team closed out the Hendrix Fall Classic with a win over Rust College and a loss to Williams Baptist College on Saturday. Abby Brown recorded eight kills and four aces and Lauren Rozof finished with five kills, 11 digs and three aces in the 25-15, 25-20, 25-15 win over Rust. Alyssa Eason had 19 assists and 10 digs and Ashlee Walters turned in a team-high 14 digs. Diane Humphreys had a team-high six aces, Melony Motley totaled four kills and two block assists and Abby Carter had two block assists.

    CONWAY, Ark. – Lauren Rozof and Melony Motley combined for 21 kills but the Huntingdon volleyball team dropped its first two matches in the Hendrix Fall Classic on Friday. Huntingdon fell to Ouachita Baptist University and Hendrix College in three games. OBU won 25-22, 25-11 and 25-16 and Hendrix won 25-19, 25-15, 25-14.

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Huntingdon College volleyball team battled in two hard-fought matches in the Berry tournament on Saturday. Huntingdon lost to Berry in four games and lost to Oglethorpe in five games. Berry won 25-9, 20-25, 25-13, 25-19. Oglethorpe won 25-23, 22-25, 17-25, 26-24, 15-12.

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – Melony Motley totaled 13 kills in two matches and Alyssa Eason had 36 assists, but the Huntingdon volleyball team came up short on Friday in the Berry tournament. Huntingdon (1-5) dropped both matches 3-0. Covenant beat the Hawks 25-21, 25-19, 25-11 and Mississippi College won 25-23, 25-19, 25-18.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Abby Brown totaled 19 kills and Alyssa Eason had 41 assists but the Huntingdon College volleyball team dropped its final two matches in the MaK Attack Tournament on Sunday. The Hawks (1-3) fell to LaGrange in four games, 25-23, 23-25, 21-25, 12-25 and lost to host Birmingham-Southern in three games, 25-13, 25-12, 25-17.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Huntingdon volleyball team earned a split in its first two matches of the season on Saturday. The Hawks lost to Piedmont 3-0 and defeated Stillman 3-0 in the first day of the MaK Attack Tournament. Piedmont won 25-16, 25-17, 25-17 before the Hawks beat Stillman 25-23, 25-18, 26-24.
