DEMOREST, Ga.- Entering the tournament as the #7 seed, Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse hit the road to battle Piedmont University, the #2 seed, in the first round.
After falling behind 13-0 in the first quarter, the Hawks couldn't recover, taking a 23-0 loss, ending their season.
How it happened
The Lions were hot from the onset, capitalizing on 13 of their 17 shots in the opening period to widen the gap quickly. Largely in part due to 14 Huntingdon turnovers in the first half, Piedmont tacked on four more goals in the second quarter to bring the halftime score to 17-0. They scored three goals in each of the final two quarters, while stifling Huntingdon's offensive attack, to walk away with the 23-0 first round win. The Hawks couldn't get going on the offensive end, turning the ball over 28 times, preventing them from attempting a single shot, resulting in the season-ending loss.
Stay tuned for news to come of Huntingdon Women's Lacrosse's 2026 season.
