Hudson And Jones Bring Home USA South All-Conference Honors
The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2025 All-Conference awards for women's lacrosse. Individually, Meredith's Reese Walker was named Offensive Player of the Year while her coach, Lauren Scott, was selected as Coach of the Year. Methodist's Kennedy Martin collected Defensive Player of the Year and Southern Virginia's Makenzie Mickelsen earned Rookie of the Year accolades to round out the individual awards. Additionally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team, consisting of one member from each competing school who their coach felt displayed the best sportsmanship this season.
All awards are voted on by the women's lacrosse coach at each institution.
Huntingdon saw two athletes recognized, as Kate Hudson was named to the all-conference third team and Colby Jones received all-sportsmanship team honors.
Hudson, thus far, has shouldered the load for the Hawks offensive attack, scoring 44 goals to go along with with 5 assists, tying the current program record for points with Huntingdon's USA South first round tournament matchup remaining. Earlier this season, she shattered the former program record for goals in a game, putting 13 past the keeper in the Hawks matchup at Warren Wilson. As a result of her offensive impact all season, she has been recognized as an all-conference performer.
As the team's lone senior, Colby Jones has provided steady leadership to this young team, thus resulting in her selection to the all-sportsmanship team.
