MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team pushed its conference winning streak to five games with an 89-56 win over Brevard College on Saturday.
Huntingdon took control of the game in the second quarter, built a 36-point lead in the second half and led by at least 20 points for the final 21 minutes of the game.
The Hawks led 17-8 at the end of the first quarter and held a 21-17 lead with 6:04 left in the second quarter. Huntingdon put the game away in the final six minutes of the half.
The Hawks outscored Brevard 23-4 to close the second quarter and carried a 44-21 lead into halftime.
Five players combined for 62 of Huntingdon's points. Ry Whetstone led Huntingdon with 17 points and four assists and Indya Lawrence had 14 points and a team-high five assists.
Kassidy Crawford added 12 points, Destiny Cross had 10 points and Shaonica Thomas finished with nine points, three assists and a team-high five rebounds.
