Women’s track and field has solid showing at Sewanee

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Huntingdon women's track and field team competed in its second meet of the Indoor Season on Saturday.

The first-year program had two top-five finishes, five top-eight finishes and nine top-10 finishes in the Tiger Indoor Invitational at Sewanee.

Sheaney Marshall placed third in the 400 meters and was 12th in the 800 meters and Kyndall Caldwell finished sixth in the 200 meters and eighth in the 400 meters.

Jackie Daniels was 10th in the mile run and Rachael Phillips was fifth in the 3,000 meter run. Daniels, Caldwell, Marshall and Phillips teamed up for a seventh-place finish in the Distance Medley.

In the field events, Miah Burton was 10th in the long jump and Brianna McClure was 16th. Kim Allen finished 10th in the shot put, Abby Carter was 11th and Sara Beasley was 13th. Beasley was 10th in the weight throw and Allen was 13th.

Team scores were not compiled.

The Hawks return to action in Birmingham and will compete in the Vulcan Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
