Hawks Sweep Agnes Scott To Close Out Regular Season

DECATUR, Ga.- Ending the regular season with a bang, #9 Huntingdon Softball made quick work of the Agnes Scott Scotties, sweeping their conference opponent by scores of 9-2 and 9-0.

In the latter of today's contests, sophomore pitcher Addison Gaines threw her second complete game no-hitter of the season, striking out 10 Scotties in the process.

Game One

The Hawks erupted for four runs in the first inning, highlighted by a two-RBI double from Kate Dinkel, and never looked back. Dinkel finished a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs and two doubles, while Kylie Stephens added two hits, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Riley Rudick also contributed with a hit and an RBI as Huntingdon piled up 11 hits on the day.

After Agnes Scott answered with two runs in the bottom of the first, the Hawks' pitching staff shut the door. McKenzie Little was outstanding in relief, allowing just one hit over 4.2 scoreless innings while striking out five to stabilize the game and secure the win.

Huntingdon added insurance in the second, fourth, and fifth innings to pull away, taking advantage of timely hitting and defensive miscues to seal the seven-run victory.

Game Two

Addison Gaines was sensational in the circle, tossing a complete-game no-hitter while striking out 10 and walking just one to completely silence the Scotties' lineup. She faced only 19 batters in six innings and never allowed Agnes Scott to generate any sustained offense.

The Hawks broke the game open in the middle innings after a scoreless start, capitalizing on defensive miscues in the second before breaking through in the fourth. Kylie Stephens delivered the big swing of the game with a two-run double, while Kamryn Miller, Riley Rudick, Taylor Au, Katie Burch, and Lanie Witt all played key roles in a steady offensive buildup.

Rudick added a two-run triple in the sixth to extend the lead, and Au followed with an RBI single as Huntingdon pulled away late to secure the run-rule style finish.

Stephens led the offense with a 2-for-4 game and three RBIs, while Rudick drove in a pair and added extra-base power. The Hawks finished with 13 hits and five stolen bases across a complete all-around performance.

With the regular season coming to a close, the Hawks await news surrounding seeding for the 2026 Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament. Visit collegiateconferenceofthesouth.com for more information about the tournament.
