Stephens And Gaines Bring Home Weekly CCS Awards
ATLANTA, Ga.- After leading the Hawks to a 4-0 record in two CCS double-header sweeps at home, Huntingdon's Kylie Stephens and Addison Gaines have been named the Player and Pitcher of the Week in the Collegiate Conference of the South.
Stephens delivered an impactful week at the plate, helping Huntingdon to a 4-0 record with sweeps over LaGrange and Asbury. The junior batted .571 (8-for-14), collecting three doubles while driving in five runs and scoring four times. She also added two stolen bases, contributing to the Hawks' offensive production throughout the week.
Gaines continued her strong season with two wins in the circle, leading Huntingdon through a 4-0 week. The sophomore threw 11.0 innings across two appearances, allowing just one earned run on four hits while striking out nine and holding opponents to a .111 batting average. Her week included a five-inning no-hitter against Asbury, where she struck out six while kicking off the week against LaGrange, where she allowed just one run on four hits.
Stephens, Gaines, and the Hawks return to action at Cannon Field on Wednesday, April 22nd against Emory. Games are set for 2:00 and 4:00 PM CT.
