Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete Of The Week: Addison Gaines

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Guiding the #14-ranked Hawks Softball team to an 8-1 start from the circle, sophomore Addison Gaines has been recognized as the Alabama Power Huntingdon Student Athlete of the Week. 

Hailing from Peachtree City, Georgia, and a graduate of McIntosh HS, Gaines currently boasts a 4-0 record on the season, pitching 2 complete games in that effort. Her 30 strikeouts not only rank her second in the CCS, but also contribute to the major career milestone of 100 strikeouts, which she surpassed in the Hawks 5-1 win over May-Hardin Baylor at the Rhodes Invitational this past weekend. 

Gaines will look to continue leading Huntingdon as they head to Columbus, Georgia this weekend for the NFCA Leadoff Classic. The Hawks open things up on Friday, March 6th, with a double-header against Gettysburg and Bethel. Gametimes are set for 2:00 and 4:30 PM CT.
