Men's Soccer Earns The Sixth Seed, Travels To Belhaven For First Round Of CCS Tournament

ATLANTA, Ga.- The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced the official seedings and bracket for the 2025 CCS Men's Soccer Championship Tournament, slated for October 29 – November 8. Teams earned points throughout the regular season: three points for a win, one point for a tie, and zero points for a loss, to determine seeding for the postseason. Now in its fourth edition, the tournament will feature six competitive squads vying for the conference crown, with each matchup hosted by the higher-seeded team.

Action begins on Wednesday, October 29, with two opening-round matchups:

  • No. 3 seed Belhaven (8-5-4, 2-2-2 CCS) will host No. 6 seed Huntingdon (2-11-3, 1-4-1 CCS) in the tournament's opening contest.
  • No. 4 seed LaGrange (5-3-8, 1-1-4 CCS) will welcome No. 5 seed Piedmont (6-8-1, 2-3-1 CCS) in the second match of the day.
    •  LaGrange breaks the points tie with Piedmont for drawing two ties against Maryville and Piedmont

The tournament's top two seeds receive first-round byes and will enter play in the semifinal round on Saturday, November 1.

  •  No. 1 seed Covenant (8-5-3, 5-1 CCS) will face the winner of the LaGrange-Piedmont matchup, while
  • No. 2 seed Maryville (8-3-5, 4-1-1 CCS) will take on the winner of the Belhaven-Huntingdon contest.

The winners of each semifinal will advance to the championship match on Saturday, November 8, where the 2025 CCS Men's Soccer Champion will be crowned.

After coming up short last season and failing to reach the conference tournament, the Hawks have returned to contention in Coach Robert Spain's first season at the helm of the program. Led offensively by Dashun McDonald's 8 goals(tied for first in the conference), and Trent Wineberg's 110 saves between the pipes(also a league-best), the Hawks look forward to their first tournament appearance since the 2023 season, where they fell in the opening round to none other than their upcoming opponent, the Belhaven Blazers.
