Richards Accepts Head Coaching Position At Division II University Of Montevallo
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- After serving as the Head Coach of Huntingdon Men's Basketball for three seasons, Zac Richards has accepted the head coaching position at the Division II University of Montevallo.
Richards tallied a 48-32 overall record for a .600 winning percentage while posting back-to-back seasons of over a .500 winning percentage for the first time in Huntingdon's history since 2006 in his tenure, eclipsing the 20 win mark for the first time since the 2005 season while bringing the college its first Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament Championship and NCAA tournament berth in the 2024-25 season. In these three seasons, Richards oversaw 12 all-conference selections, including the 2023-24 CCS Rookie of the Year BJ Brown, and the 2025-26 6th Man of the Year, Jeremy Autin.
Huntingdon Athletics would like to extend our utmost appreciation to Coach Richards for his lasting impact on the Men's Basketball Program. A national search to fill the position is underway.
