BJ Brown Earns CCS Rookie Of The Week Honors For Third Time
MONTGOMERY, Ala.- For the third time this season, the CCS has announce that men's basketball guard BJ Brown has been named Rookie of the Week for his performances against Covenant and Piedmont.
The Birmingham, Alabama native led the Hawks to a 2-0 week with wins over conference opponents Covenant and Piedmont. The freshman guard averaged 20.5 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game. Against Covenant, he tallied 19 points and grabbed six rebounds while adding five assists and a steal. The Alabama native had a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in a double digit win over Piedmont. BJ is currently ranked 5th among conference scoring leaders, averaging 16.6 points per game and 2nd among assist leaders with 5.3 assists per game.
Brown and the Hawks look to continue their success in the CCS on Friday, January 11th in a duel with the Scots of Maryville College. Tip off is set for 7:00 PM CT.
