Huntingdon loses to Piedmont in conference matchup

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon men's basketball team lost to Piedmont 81-69 on Saturday at Roland Arena.

The Hawks (3-17, 2-7 USA South) only trailed by six points, 34-28, at halftime but Piedmont (11-9, 6-4 USA South) pulled ahead in the second half. The Lions built a double-digit lead early in the second half and set the tone.

Alex Layson led Huntingdon with 16 points and Taylor Hughes and Dantavius Washington each scored 12 points. Washington also had a team-high eight rebounds. Andre Ashley added nine points and six rebounds and Wyatt Popovich finished with eight points.

Huntingdon returns to action on Wednesday, hosting LaGrange at 5:30 p.m.
