Alabama Power Student Athlete Of The Week: Kalen Stapp

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- Following his heroic performance in Huntingdon's 52-46 victory over McMurry this past Saturday, Kalen Stapp as been recognized as Huntingdon's second Alabama Power Student Athlete of the Week. 

Being recognized as both the defensive player and defensive rookie of the week in the USA South Athletic Conference, the Social Circle, Georgia freshman safety grabbed two interceptions, the second of which he took back 80 yards on the final play of the game to secure the Hawks victory last week. With McMurray attempting to win the game in regulation on a Hail Mary, Stapp picked the ball off and returned it for the winning score. His first interception came in the middle of the second quarter.

Stapp and the Hawks enter their bye week in week four, and return to Samford Stadium on October 4th to open conference play on homecoming against Methodist. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM CT.
