Huntingdon Esports Joins The Peach Belt Conference
AUGUSTA, GA -- The Peach Belt Conference and commissioner David Brunk have announced that Huntingdon will join the league as an associate member for Esports beginning this fall. The Hawks will compete in Rocket League, Overwatch and League of Legends in the PBC this coming season.
"We welcome Huntingdon Esports to the Peach Belt Conference," said commissioner Brunk. "Their commitment to building a highly competitive program is evident and they will be a great addition to our league."
Huntingdon began their Esports program in the fall of 2023 and currently compete in 13 titles.
"I would like to thank Commissioner David Brunk and Deputy Commissioner Diana Kling for this opportunity afforded to our esports team," said athletic director Eric Levanda. "I applaud the Peach Belt Conference for sponsoring this popular program. We look forward to healthy competition and representing the Peach Belt proudly."
The Peach Belt Conference was the first NCAA conference to offer Esports as a league championship starting in 2018. It was also the first partner conference of Riot Games for their College League of Legends championships.
The PBC currently competes in four titles with two LAN events each year, one in the fall and one in the spring; the fall regular season featuring Valorant and Rocket League will begin in early September.
