Johnson Named CCS Pitcher Of The Week

ATLANTA, Ga.- Securing the final regular season award of the season, Huntingdon's MD Johnson has been recognized as the Collegiate Conference of the South's Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday. 

Hailing from Fairhope, Alabama, Johnson delivered a complete-game performance to lead Huntingdon to a series-opening win at Piedmont. The freshman threw all nine innings, allowing two runs on eight hits while limiting the Lions to a .242 batting average. He struck out four and issued just one walk in the outing, securing his sixth win of the season.

Johnson and the Hawks kick off the Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament tomorrow, April 29th, against #3 seeded Maryville at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. Gametime is set for 7:00 PM CT.
