Hawks Can't Get It Going In Game Two

MONTGOMERY, Ala.- After dropping game one of the series to the Lions 9-6 yesterday, Huntingdon Baseball returned to Neal Posey Field today for a Good Friday showdown against Piedmont in game two. Despite having seven hits for the game, the Hawks couldn't generate consistent momentum at the plate, going scoreless as the Lions claimed game two 9-0.

Piedmont got things started in the first inning, scoring a run off a RBI single to take the a slight advantage into the second inning. Keeping the Hawks without a hit through two, the Lions were able to extend their lead to 2-0 in the third inning off a Huntingdon error. Ty Pruitt put the Hawks first hit on the board in the next frame, but the Lions managed to retire the side before anyone could cross home plate. Piedmont tacked on two more runs in the fifth inning to bring the score to 4-0, and in spite of six late hits for Huntingdon, the Lions kept the Hawks off the board, using five runs in the final two innings to walk away with the 9-0 victory.

Pitching six innings today, JB Landrum fell to 5-3 overall on the season, with Jable Ramey and Dylan Golden seeing time on the mound in the final innings.

The Hawks look to bounce back as they close out their series against Piedmont tomorrow, April 19th, for Senior Day. Gametime is set for 1:00 PM CT.
