FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Huntingdon football player Ahmaud Taylor was named one of the USA South Athletic Conference Athletes of the Week on Monday.
Taylor was named the Defensive Rookie of the Week for his performance in a 45-0 win over Greensboro.
Taylor was part of a defensive effort that posted the seventh shutout in Huntingdon history while allowing the fifth fewest passing yards (80) and the sixth fewest yards of total offense (146) in Hawks' history.
As Huntingdon earned the 100th win in program history, Taylor finished with five tackles and an interception and returned a fumble 47 yards for a touchdown. His fumble return for a touchdown was just the sixth in Huntingdon history and the 18th overall defensive touchdown by a Hawk.
For the season, Taylor is tied as the Hawks' fourth leading tackler with 30 stops.
