MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon women's basketball team put Pensacola Christian away early and cruised to a 90-45 win on Thursday in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Roland Arena.
The Lady Hawks built a 23-4 lead in the first 10 minutes of their season opener and led by at least 20 points for the final 22 minutes of the game.
Senior Juliette Harp just missed a double-double in the first half and finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds in 19 minutes of action. Harp had 11 points and nine rebounds at the half.
Junior Payton Kiser, in her first game with the Lady Hawks, led all scorers with 17 points in 14 minutes. Kiser hit five 3-pointers in the game. Also in her first game with Huntingdon, junior Alex Lowery added 15 points and six rebounds in 19 minutes.
Junior T.I. Duncan had 12 points and four rebounds and led the team with six assists and four steals in 16 minutes of play. Duncan had nine points, six assists, three steals and four rebounds in the first half.
