  • 119 Hawks earn USA South Academic All-Conference honors

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – A total of 119 Huntingdon College student-athletes were recognized with the release of the USA South Academic All-Conference team on Friday. The student-athletes, representing each of Huntingdon's 18 athletic programs, were among the 1,441 USA South student-athletes named to the team.

    SATSUMA, Ala. – Former Huntingdon shortstop Alyssa Singleterry is continuing her softball career this summer in the American Softball Association. The second-year professional softball league’s season begins on Friday and is scheduled to run through the end of July.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team won its first elimination game on Saturday but lost to Averett in the bottom of the seventh inning to end its run in the USA South Tournament. The Lady Hawks opened the day with a 9-1 win over Meredith in five innings before suffering a 3-2 loss to the Cougars.
  • Lady Hawks fall to Averett in 10 innings in USA South Tournament

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team took Averett University to 10 innings on Friday but fell 6-4 in the USA South Conference Tournament. The loss dropped Huntingdon into the elimination bracket. The Lady Hawks (30-14) will play Meredith (14-23) in an elimination game on Saturday at 9 a.m. (Central) at the Shuford Softball Complex.
  • Huntingdon eliminates LaGrange in Rd. 1 of USA South Tournament

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team kept its season going with a 6-3 win over LaGrange on Saturday in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament. The win capped a best-of-three first-round series that began on Friday. Huntingdon won the first game 5-4 on Friday and LaGrange won the second game 5-3 to force Game 3.
  • Lady Hawks split in USA South first-round series

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team split with LaGrange in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday. The Lady Hawks won the first game 5-4 but lost the second game 5-3. The two teams will play a deciding Game 3 on Saturday at 2 p.m. The winner will advance to the double elimination portion of the conference tournament in LaGrange, Ga.
  • Six Hawks recognized with release of USA South Softball Awards

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Six Huntingdon softball players were recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference awards on Thursday. Freshman Annie Nolan and junior Madison Hunt were named first-team All-Conference and first-team West Division. Seniors Alyssa Singleterry and Rayne Ellis and sophomores Lauren Melton and Madison Perryman were each named second-team West Division. Senior Ashley Carroll was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.

    BREVARD, N.C. – The Huntingdon softball team won a pair of conference games on Sunday to earn its fourth conference sweep of the season. The Lady Hawks beat Brevard 7-1 in Game 1 and capped the day with a 1-0 win in eight innings.

    DEMOREST, Ga. – The Huntingdon softball team split in a doubleheader with Piedmont College on Saturday. Huntingdon’s 5-1 win in Game 1 was the first conference loss for Piedmont this season. Huntingdon fell 6-5 in the second game.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team lost both games of a doubleheader with Maryville on Sunday during Senior Day. Huntingdon fell 4-0 in Game 1 and lost the final game 16-5 in six innings.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team earned its second straight conference sweep with a pair of 3-1 wins against Berea on Saturday. The Lady Hawks built a 3-0 lead in Game 1 before Berea scored in the seventh inning. In Game 2, Huntingdon carried a 2-1 lead into the sixth inning before adding a final run.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team lost Game 1 but bounced back with a 10-run win in Game 2 in a doubleheader with William Peace on Saturday. After falling 6-2 in the first game, Huntingdon won the second game 12-2 in five innings.
  • Hitt and Hunt earn USA South Athlete of the Week honors

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Two Huntingdon student-athletes were named Athletes of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday.  Sam Hitt was named Defensive Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse and Madison Hunt was named Pitcher of the Week for softball. This is the second straight week the two have earned the honors.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon softball team closed out the weekend with a sweep of the University of Dallas and Mount St. Joseph on Sunday. The Lady Hawks beat Dallas 8-5 and knocked off Mount St. Joseph 3-1.

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Four Huntingdon Hawks were recognized by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday with the release of the conference’s Athletes of the Week awards. Brooks Freeman was named Pitcher of the Week for baseball, Madison Hunt was chosen as Pitcher of the Week for softball, Sam Hitt was recognized as Defensive Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse and Josie Waddell was selected as Player of the Week for women’s tennis.
