    Huntingdon joins USA South Athletic Conference MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced today that Huntingdon will join the NCAA-Division III USA South Athletic Conference beginning in the fall of 2013. Huntingdon and Covenant College (Ga.) were approved as members at a meeting of the USA South presidents yesterday. Current USA South members are Averett University (Va.), Ferrum College (Va.), Greensboro College (N.C.), Mary Baldwin College (Va.), Meredith College (N.C.), Methodist University (N.C.), N.C. Wesleyan College (N.C.), William Peace University (N.C.), and the conference's newest members, LaGrange College (Ga.), Piedmont College (Ga.), and Maryville College (Tenn.).

    Huntingdon’s Terry hoping to make a difference and raise awareness MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon junior Stacy Terry watched the video and was stunned. The video in question dealt with bullying and its connection with youth suicide. Once Terry's initial shock wore off, he became motivated to try and do something about it. With the help of his soccer teammate Nick Alverson, Terry hopes College Students Against Bullying will be an active organization on the Huntingdon campus next fall.

The student-athletes from volleyball, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s cross country excelled in the classroom while representing the Hawks in competition this fall.

The GSAC announced its men’s soccer awards Thursday afternoon and will present the awards on Saturday during the GSAC tournament in LaGrange, Ga.

Thomas scored in the 15th minute but Piedmont (6-7-2, 2-1 Great South Athletic Conference) answered with a Nick Weatherby goal in 23rd minute and another Weatherby goal in the 55th minute.

Dallas Thomas scored in the 25th minute and Blake Spike scored on a Chris Blight assists midway through the second half for a 2-0 win.

Gable Fortune scored the first goal for Spring Hill (8-3), a little more than 21 minutes into the game. Fortune added a second goal with less than 15 minutes to play in the game. Tyler Hartlage scored Spring Hills’ other goal.

Allen scored on an assist from Dallas Thomas in the 36th minute before Ferrum answered with a Stuart Bennett goal late in the second half. Keeper Jordan Osborne finished with four saves for Huntingdon (0-0-1), including two in the first overtime. Ferrum (1-1-1) attempted four shots in the two overtime periods.
