The win was the third straight for the first-year Hawks (4-2).

The Hawks (3-2) jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it. Rhodes (0-3) kept the game close, but couldn’t pull closer than three goals in the final three periods.

Experience made a difference as first-year Huntingdon fell to fourth-year Birmingham-Southern 27-2. The game was just the second for the Hawks (1-1). It was the 49th game for the Panthers (2-1).

There was a steady downpour of rain throughout the game at Samford Stadium, but that didn't stop the Hawks (1-0) and a few dozen dedicated fans from savoring the program's first win.

With three weeks until the official start of the season, the first lacrosse scrimmage in Huntingdon history was meant to be a gauge of the Hawks’ strengths and weaknesses. Auburn University’s club team beat Huntingdon 20-10, but the Hawks accomplished their main goal at Samford Stadium.

After weeks of practice and months of preparation, the Hawks host Auburn University’s club team at Samford Stadium on Saturday. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

    New assistant coaches making an impact at Huntingdon College MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Four assistant coaches are among the new faces beginning their first fall at Huntingdon College. Cross Country assistant Howard Johnson and soccer assistants Robert Milner and David Esser are busy preparing for the upcoming fall season while Jordan Drumheller is preparing for the first season of men’s lacrosse in the spring. The four are making positive impacts and have made good impressions with their head coaches.

    Huntingdon adds Lacrosse and Track Montgomery, Ala.—Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced at a news conference held on campus today that the College will add men's lacrosse and women's track and field to the list of intercollegiate athletic teams offered by the College. The programs will begin in the 2011–2012 academic year. West said he anticipates women's lacrosse and men's track and field will follow in the 2012–2013 academic year. The College's athletic program is a member of the NCAA-Division III and offers women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball; and men's baseball, basketball, cross country, football, golf, soccer, and tennis.
