    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon College athletic department held its annual Awards Ceremony on Wednesday night to recognize the accomplishments of student-athletes that helped make this another successful year.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team closed the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament with a 16-over-par 304 in the final round on Saturday. The Hawks finished four strokes out of first and in third with a three-round total of 896. North Carolina Wesleyan won the conference championship with an 892. Methodist placed second with an 894.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – Junior Stephen Shephard climbed two spots and the Huntingdon men’s golf team climbed one spot in the second round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Friday.
  • Four Huntingdon golfers earn All-Conference recognition

    FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.  – Four Huntingdon golfers were recognized with the release of the USA South All-Conference golf awards on Thursday. Juniors Mark Connelly and Stephen Shephard both earned first-team All-Conference honors, senior Jon Colten Stanaland was a second-team selection and sophomore Drew Mathers was named honorable mention. Stanaland was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

    LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team shot 7-over-par 295 in the first round of the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament on Thursday. Entering Friday’s second round at Highland Country Club, the Hawks are third in the nine-team field.

    STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Senior Jon Colten Stanaland won his first collegiate tournament and junior Mark Connelly finished second to lead the Huntingdon men’s golf team to a second-place finish in the Emory Invitational on Sunday. Stanaland, who shot his best collegiate round on Saturday with a 3-under-par 67, followed up with an even-par 70 in the final round to finish with a 3-under 137. Connelly shot a 2-under 68 in the final round and finished two strokes behind Stanaland with a 1-under 139.

    STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Senior Jon Colten Stanaland fired his best collegiate round and the Huntingdon men’s golf team shot its second best round of the spring in the opening round of the Emory Invitational on Saturday. Stanaland turned in the Hawks’ best round of the fall and spring season with a 3-under-par 67. He leads the field by a stroke entering Sunday’s final round at Smoke Rise Country Club. The second-ranked Hawks shot 5-over 285 and are in first place by one stroke.

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The second-ranked Huntingdon men’s golf team shot a 5-over-par 293 in the opening round of the Wynlakes Intercollegiate on Monday. Entering Tuesday’s final round, the Hawks lead the 16-team tournament by three strokes. Emory is second with an 8-over 296 and Wittenberg University is third with an 11-over 299. The Huntingdon B-Team is ninth with a 313.
  • Second-ranked Hawks finish strong in Jekyll Island Invitational

    JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team climbed five spots in the final round and placed third in the Jekyll Island Invitational on Sunday. Huntingdon, which was in 12th after Round 1 and eighth after Round 2, fired a season-best 6-under-par 282 in the final round. The second-ranked Hawks finished the tournament with a 5-over 869.

    JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The Huntingdon men’s golf team shaved 13 strokes off its first round score and shot a 1-under-par 287 on Saturday in the second round of the Jekyll Island Invitational. Entering Sunday’s final round, the second-ranked Hawks are 13 strokes out of first and in eighth place with an 11-over 587.

    LAS VEGAS – Huntingdon Director of Golf Dave Schreyer was recently presented with the Dave Williams Division III National Coach of the Year Award. Schreyer was announced as the Division III Coach of the Year in June and received the award at the Golf Coaches Association of America’s National Convention in December.

The top-ranked Hawks are two strokes out of first entering Tuesday’s final round at the Sedgefield Country Club.

    NORMAN, Okla.  – The Huntingdon men’s golf team is the new No. 1 team in Division III with the release of the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll on Friday. The Hawks received four first-place votes and a total of 434 points in the poll. Huntingdon began the fall season ranked fifth and climbed to second before moving into first.

  • Huntingdon College to induct five into Athletic Hall of Fame

    MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Huntingdon College will induct five new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame this weekend. The ceremony will be held in the Leo J. Drum Theater at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The five inductees represent six sports and four different decades of Huntingdon athletics. This year’s inductees are David G. Myrick (basketball and tennis, Class of 1967), Bill Hamilton (baseball, Class of 1982), Kent Hagan (cross country and tennis, Class of 2011), Caitlin McMahon Hagan (cross country, Class of 2012) and John Sadie (golf coach in the 1990s).

    DELAWARE, Ohio – The Huntingdon men’s golf team climbed one spot on the final day of the Gordin Collegiate Classic and tied for third. The second-ranked Hawks shot 6-over-par 290 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 882.

    DELAWARE, Ohio – The second-ranked Huntingdon men’s golf team shot 592 in the first two rounds of the Gordin Collegiate Classic on Sunday. The Hawks shot 305 in Round 1 and 3-over-par 287 in Round 2 and are in fourth entering Monday’s final round.
