12th-ranked Hawks win offensive battle with Covenant

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Huntingdon baseball team opened its conference series with Covenant with a 12-10 win on Friday. In a game that saw the two teams combine for 30 hits and 22 runs, 12th-ranked Huntingdon put together a season-high 20 hits and took the lead for good in the seventh inning.

Huntingdon wins Game 1 of Top-20 matchup

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Huntingdon baseball team built an eight-run lead in the first two innings and knocked off Methodist University 16-2 in a Top-20 matchup on Friday night in the first game of a three-game conference series. The game was shortened to seven innings by the USA South Athletic Conference’s 12-run rule. Game 2 of the series is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Murphy and Henry recognized as USA South Athletes of the Week

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Two Huntingdon student-athletes were named Athletes of the Week by the USA South Athletic Conference on Monday. Senior Matt Murphy was named Defensive Player of the Week for men’s lacrosse and junior Wallace Henry was named the Pitcher of the Week for baseball.

11th-ranked Hawks split with Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. – The 11th-ranked Huntingdon baseball team earned a split with Brevard in the first two games of a three-game conference series on Saturday. The Hawks lost the first game 2-1 and won the second game 5-1. The two teams will wrap up the series on Sunday at 11 a.m.
